Guidelines
What the catalog accepts, what it refuses, and how disputes are handled.
These guidelines apply to every server listing and every image in the catalog. They describe what a maintainer will reject, and what happens afterwards.
Accepted content
- Accurate information about a Minecraft server that you own or are authorized to represent.
- Images that you own, or that you have permission to publish.
- Descriptions that match what the server actually offers.
Refused content
- Images or text that you do not have the right to publish.
- Offensive, hateful or sexually explicit content, in any field or image.
- A listing that impersonates another network, or uses another network's brand to suggest a connection that does not exist.
- A trademark used to suggest an endorsement the owner has not given.
- Personal data about private individuals, including contact details that are not the server's official channels.
- Malicious links, links that deceive about their destination, or links to content that infects or tracks visitors.
- Submissions that try to attack the tooling. Report those through security, not through a pull request.
Disputes and removals
A rights holder, or an owner who wants a listing removed, can ask through the repository's issue tracker or the private contact in the security policy. A maintainer reviews the request and, when it is valid, opens a removal pull request. A server that must not return has its id retired.
Maintainers may also remove content that breaks these guidelines, without waiting for a request.
Changing a decision
If a listing was refused or removed, you can open a new pull request that corrects the problem, and explain what changed. A maintainer will review it on its merits.
These guidelines are a policy, not legal advice. Questions about specific rights should be taken to a qualified professional.
